Emerging from Nigeria's vibrant musical landscape, Ikenga Super Stars of Africa brought infectious energy and sophisticated horn arrangements to the Highlife genre during the 1970s and 1980s, helping to sustain and evolve this pan-African sound during a transformative period. Their contributions to the Highlife tradition preserved the genre's collaborative spirit and danceability while influencing generations of West African musicians who would carry these sounds forward.
